TAGG 3.0
Stickists, I am reaching out to you as the time has come for a replacement for the TAGG interface. For those of you who do not know what the TAGG is, you can reference FHF 74. It was designed by John Taggart for one of the guys from Heartstrings. The interface attached to a cymbal stand and allowed the Stickist to play in a standing position. John, a guitar tech by trade (Fleetwood Mac), was not a Stickist, but someone that truly appreciated the Chapman Stick and it's community. Last week, I sold the last TAGG he had shipped me and as mentioned in previous posts, no further production is planned. The feedback that I generally get on the TAGG is positive and have received similar feedback from Emmett. I've spoken with a number of different players on these boards about the next iteration of the TAGG and the next prototype is looking to be one cut using a 3-D printer. I'd like to get the discussion going so we can gather additional feedback as well as rally those that may have interest or resources available to them, that could further our endeavor. Comments and PMs welcome, cheers. Gene

Re: TAGG 3.0
If there is 3d model file description file for it already there are multiple online sources ( e.g. xometry.com ) for getting it 3D printed. Just send them the file and say how many you want e.g. they also have an auxiliary service https://zverse3d.layr.co/ if you need them to make a 3d file from a prototype (i.e. an existing wooden tagg)

Re: TAGG 3.0
If the 3d printed ones don't materialize, maybe someone in the woodworking trade could reproduce them if given one to copy?
I have an Unfinished Furniture store near me I could talk to about it.

Re: TAGG 3.0
I also have a couple of friends who own 3d printers. I'll talk to them about it to see what they can do.
Though I would probably need some sort of schematic or technical drawing to help get it started? I've never used a 3d printer myself so I don't know exactly how to begin.

Re: TAGG 3.0
what's the rationale for 3d printing? just to make the production distributed and mechanized? given it's stand mounted, weight I doubt would be an issue
I'm not up on current 3Dp materials (sort of waiting on that myself, seems like it's evolving ) - are the currently strong and rigid enough?

Personally I'd lead toward Multi Jet Fusion, which is available through online vendors if I understand correctly. I don't know if the consumer grade units use material with the strength needed for me to entrust with being the sole support for holding my Stick 3 or 4 feet off the ground. Knowledge/skill of the individual setting up the machine, CAD model, and job would obviously come into play.

I feel ya on that. more out of curiosity, is there any stress test failure analysis data out there? I men just on simple shapes maybe. I'm interested if the tomographic nature creates shear lines

Re: TAGG 3.0
All options are on the table. I've received some PMs from very qualified individuals in our community that have taken an interest in pursuing this. I welcome to any and all ideas, but what I am really looking for is execution as there is a real need in our community to provide this type of product. That being said, I welcome feedback from existing TAGG owners on what they want to see updated, improved or amended. Thanks again to everyone that has taken up the call.

Re: TAGG 3.0
Is the design a public domain thing or is there a patent on it? I’ve only seen Kevin C s tagg and I seem to remember it was plywood. I’d be interested in making my own as I have access to the machinery to do it
