That's why I use the original button and only had to by an oval eyelet! You can also cut an original shoulder strap and attach it to a regular guitar strap.

I would first try with a regular guitar strap and a textile tape to see if the position suits you at all. The stick does not hang quite as vertically as with the belt hook and shoulder strap. It is more the Cides/Adelsson position ;)

I don’t like drilling holes in my instruments. An easier approach would be to punch extra holes in the original strap and attach it to the new strap-on accessory

I did not drill anything. I took a strap from an old backpack, made a hole there and fitted the oval eyelet (see attachment).
This may not be as stable as Rico's solution, but you don't need to drill any holes.

I guess this strap wouldn't work for a Railboard, since the Dunlop thing couldn't be screwed into it.

What Muegel did looks promising, but I don't have the parts for that or the knowledge to pull it off.

Hi bbacher. I think it would work totally fine on a Railboard. If I'm not mistaken, the headstock is a polycarbonate material and all ll the machine heads are all screwed in, so no reason why the new strap lock couldn't be fastened on.

I had one of the origional polycarb Sticks and screws bite into that material really well.

To anyone who is hesitant about drilling into their instrument but wants to install a better strap lock to have someone who is experienced and comfortable with working on guitars to do it.

Here's the link again from Dunlop on how to install their strap locks.

It seems we need another accessory to attach the stick to the existing eye clasp. If there are others out there with old backpacks, now is your chance to make some $$ by repurposing them as stick strap attachments.

For stick players that are wanting to go with the original existing eye clasp, but have it be installed on the strap system that I'm selling, message me and we can make it happen.

Thinking you'd mail me your existing strap and I'd take the parts needed and put it onto the new strap. stickstrapsales@gmail.com

Though I really do believe the Dunlop Strap Lock is much more secure.

Haha Markussz, save a backpack and just buy some nylon webbing :)

Cheers! Rico

Cool, Thanks Mike. I didn't think of that! Cool how the Stick community works together!

Yeah if you find the exact one let me know. That way players would have an option. I'll look for it too.

Cheers, Rico

Search Amazon for Murphy Connector and you'll find it. Also called Common Sense Fasteners, I believe.
