Another preamp post
Hi Peeps.
I'm happy to say I'm about to own my second stick and will need another preamp. I've been running my PASV 4 through an SP2 since 2007. As I've gone with the new EMG RB10, I'll want to get another pre amp for the new passive pick up.
I want to go with Radial DI's,.... could folk suggest the best model here?
...I already have my switching sorted.
Thanks a bunch!

Hold on friend, are you looking for a pre-amp or a D.I. ??
I'm going to start using a 1970s Alembic FX-1 [I hope I got that model number right...] as a pre-amp for my new RB-8, the Alembic is a phenominal pre-amp, as I want to say it is based on the 2 channel Fender Dual Showman circuitry. [actually, I am pretty sure I did get that number right, because the FX-2 is the really desirable one to have - but they are super scarce, as is the FX-1 for that matter...]
As for D.I.'s I am also a huge fan of Radial, although I forget the model number of the D.I. boxes that I have - but Radial is great.

They are a couple thousand dollars though . I think you can buy them directly from alembic if you call them up. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

Stickrad wrote: Anyone else using Radial? #_# I use lots of Radials stuff. My basic thought when it comes to DI’s is passive DI for active pups, active DI for passive pups. With that being said.... I often use JDI’s when recording my Stickup equipped Stick’s. Wonderful passive DI’s with Jensen transformers. There is a stereo version as well. J48 is the active version. There is a stereo version of that one as well. Radial makes fantastic stuff. But are you asking about DI’s or preamps? Radials main thing are DI’s. They also have some pre’s like the Bassbone. But personally I prefer their DI’s.
