Post Stickers (i.e. extra 'inlay' markers) on a Railboard?
I know that some people apply extra 'inlay' stickers to their Sticks either as an aid to navigation or for pure decorative purposes.

I can see that working well on wooden Sticks (I added tape based 'linear' inlays equivalents to my Ironwood & it works well), but I understand the Railboard has a textured surface.

So, has anyone tried adding stickers of any type to a Railboard?

In due course I hope to be able to assess the situation myself, but that prospect is still some way off (order placed September 2021).

The last time I changed strings (don’t ask) I put self-sticking off-white dots (the kind you might use to colour code file folders) on all the Cs on my Railboard. I thought it would be helpful. For what it’s worth I find that I don’t actually use them. I plan to remove them next string change (don’t ask). Your mileage may vary, of course. None of them have come off.

Thank you, that's exactly the kind of info I was looking for.

Interesting also that you found that the 'helpful' C dots don't actually get used.

Better man than I...

I'd be lost without my "C" dots, but I'm as rank a newbie as you'll find...

I've not tried "C" dots yet.

However, I am considering them - or possibly (it's an outside chance, but under consideration) an extra (possible different colour) set of tape based 'linear inlays' at 10, 15, & 20?

When I saw this - and how it can be "tiled" across both melody and bass fretboards - I knew that just spotting those C-notes would help me understand where I am.

I'm very familiar with that pattern SteveS, albeit that I tend to think of it in scale degrees & fit in whatever note is appropriate as the '1'.

I tune my guitars in all 4ths (EADGCF) so I can use it there right across the neck, and it's the 'mental model' visualisation I have in mind when doing ear training.

The fact that descending 5ths side of the Stick is exactly the same pattern is a bonus - but i'm still trying to get my head around the inverted intervals. ;)

I'm not sure which tuning she uses, but Abby Clutario looks to have dots for some purpose...

Super important. For me right now, the important thing is to be able to quickly orient myself when reading music (not my strong suit by any means), and from playing guitar & bass for 30 years I'm pretty familiar with the scale degrees! Given any root I can pick out all 6 degrees in all directions from that point - whether on the bass side or the melody side. What notes I'm playing can be a complete mystery!!

Hard to see, but when I run it full-screen, yeah - she's got something marked there in octave relationships unless she's tuning to something other than 4ths/5ths.
