Post Loopers
Do the Stickests out there use loopers and, if so, what ones and in what venues? :geek:

I use the looper in my Line6 M13. Before that I had a DL4 delay for the same purpose. I think that's a great looper to start out and experiment with (you also get lots of nice delays wiht it).
I use it solo at home and in a band context, mostly to add sound textures.

Post Re: Loopers
I used various Boss loopers for several years, the RC-50 most recently. This past summer I switched to software-based looping and am thrilled with the results. I'll copy from a post under an earlier thread...

I am using a MacBook Pro, 2.8 GHz, 4GB Ram for both recording a looping. I run Pro Tools LE v8 and use an mBox II as my interface. My looping software is SooperLooper inside of Live with a boatload of plugins.

Portability is important to me and I don't need a ton of buttons at my disposal. My controller is Tech 21 MIDI Moose, MIDI Solutions Pedal Controller, and Boss FV-500L which I chain together into the MIDI port on the mBox II. (There's an interesting post on the Ableton Live forum about using a Line 6 FBV Express MK2 via the USB interface as a controller. Portable and pretty inexpensive. That and a small audio interface could be interesting.)

It all works great, I've had six loops and a dozen plug-ins going simultaneously without taxing the setup. This is working well for me and what I do. Your mileage may vary.

More about my plug-ins on the gear page at http://www.lorenclaypool.com.

P.S. - I am using this setup with acoustic, electric, baritone electric, fretless electric, lap steel, baritone lap steel, touch and synthesizer guitars.

I have no Stick but I loop like crazy on a Macbook. Hoping a Stick is in the loop for me...

EHX 2880 + Foot Controller. Great features, sounds good, easy on stage, unfortunately too large.... ;-)

Post Re: Loopers
Hey there, I use a RC-50 which I control from a Behringer FBC1010. I found myself one day with too much stuff on the floor, so I drilled :o two holes on the side of the module, installed two "output jacks" and run two cables to control start/stop from the floor with two FS-5U switches... then I installed the RC-50 in my rack case, and it works great.

Beyond the stereo capabilities of this overkill unit (you can loop one side, the other, or both) and its sampling quality, this thing has an extra input ("aux") that would allow to pass synth sounds to both channels if you are interested in layering some midi-generated sounds over your loops.

Regards,
