Looks like something that would get you up to an acoustic guitar volume level. I'll tell you what would be a real neat invention ... some type of attachable, detachable "acoustic body" for an electric stick for non-plugged in playng. If someone built a workable verson of that for reasonable money i think we'd ALL buy one!

Re: Cube Street 2-CH amp
We had a thread on those on the old forum when they first came out. Looks interesting. I'd like to try one , but I'm quite happy with my VOX DA5 for small, battery driven amplification.
88persuader......... er........ I don't think I'd be buying into your idea. Sounds like it would look hideous!

I forget who, posted a photo of one of their old sticks with an acoustic guitar body (looked like an Ovation body) before the original forum died. I thought it looked great! Perhaps they'll see this thread and re-post the photo?

To me it would be a bit like buying an electric guitar and then fastening an 'acoustic' box on the back so that you didn't have to plug it in.
If I really wanted that particular aspect I'd go to the luthier that knocked up Bob Culbertsons Acoustick with a big cheque!

A acoustic body attached to a regular Stick would add very little volume if any. - David -

Re: Cube Street 2-CH amp
I have a Stick student who had one for a few weeks. She ended up taking it back. She compared it to my Vox DA5 and thought that it wasn't worth the extra dollars. The DA5 is much smaller, lighter and the bass response is about the same. I thought it was pretty cool. The cost is a bit high though. For a Alto Stick it might work very well. - David -

Re: Cube Street 2-CH amp
Is the Vox DA5 kind of the definitive busking amp for Stickists?

Re: Cube Street 2-CH amp
The Vox is a nice little amp, as is the Microcube. For busking I find them both lacking in the volume department. I was hoping that the Cube Street might provide the same type of amp but with more flexibility and "oomph".
The Crate Taxi and Limo amps are really the definitive busking amps for anyone who plays music on the street. They are affordable, loud, hold a charge forever and have multiple inputs. But they are far from perfect; they have an inherent "trebly" sound, the molded plastic versions (no longer made) had a lot of rattles and the Limo's DSP section is known to break down. Still, for years the only serious contenders have been Fender's "Amp Can" which is great for speech but horrid for music and a small number of very expensive "boutique" brands e.g. AER.
At some point I would like to try a Cube Street as a potential alternative to using Crates + external effects boxes, particularly when I get an Alto Stick.
Cheers, Andy

Re: Cube Street 2-CH amp
I'll second Andy's take on the Crate Taxi amps, he brought his to the Sydney seminar and it sounded great! Haven't heard a Limo model, but that's starting to get on the bigger side.
Cheers,
EG
