What tuner do you use?
What tuner do you use? I have been using the tuner in garageband and wondered what people would recommend.
I was looking at the Boss TU3.

The Boss is a fine tuner. Honestly I don't think it really matters much. For the most part, they all do the job and you'll always do a little "ear" tweaking anyway. I bought a Peterson only because I wanted to get some intonating skills and for that I think you want something a little more precise. For simply tuning up your instrument ... I was happy with my $20 Korg.

I just won a Boss TU3 on ebay - should do the job nicely.
It will save me from having to fire up the computer and spend more time playing than fiddling with Garageband!

Re: What tuner do you use?
I prefer a tuner to be in the loop, so I can tune whenever I want without plugging cables. And you can mute the sound while doing it, I think that's nicer on stage. So in my case, for the stick, a Boss TU-2 and the internal tuner of my POD X3.
Cheers, Bas.

Re: What tuner do you use?
I have my Boss TU-2 set up on my treble effects volume pedal so I can switch to mono on the Stick and tune both sides silently .

Re: What tuner do you use?
I use this software on my iPhone and iPad: http://www.bitcount.com/cleartune/It is extremely accurate and does a better job than my Korg in A/B tests. I've talked to the developer and the way he does this in software is much closer to the way our ears hear than most hardware tuners. It's not worth buying an iPhone, iPod touch, or an iPad if you don't already have one. But, if you do have one of them then the app is only $4 and it's great. (I'm not associated with this app in any way, I'm just a fan.) -Eric

I use the tuner in my Boss GT10B and my Roland GR20 Mostly the Boss. I also have a little cheap tuner from Musicians friend that is super accurate. I actually use it to do the intonations on instruments that I build.
