Re: Alternative Gig Bag
Might be worth trying http://www.studioslips.com/index.phpI love their amp covers...maybe they'd do a bespoke instrument bag...especially if a few of you got together(?)

Re: Alternative Gig Bag
Speaking of bespoke and custom bags, I'd wish TRIC Cases (by Godin) would make one for stick... I have one of their guitar cases, it is a thick hardcase but weights virtually nothing, it's lighter than a gig bag!

Re: Alternative Gig Bag
I've just ordered a PA stand/mic stand bag to use as a gig bag, with some foam to wrap the Stick in and pad the ends. There are a few options on Ebay. My older Stick is 109cm long, many camera tripod bags seem to be 65-85cm, so not long enough.

Re: Alternative Gig Bag
I checked out a shorter version of the tripod stand above in the local camera shop - well made and well padded, and strong. They've got the larger version in their warehouse, so will take a look next week. It's 120cm long, which should just be long enough..
will report back

Alternative Gig Bag
Got the case now- fits perfectly- well made! Has a pocket for leads etc- will probably wrap the stick in a blanket when I use it, but it could have been designed for it-
Will send pics later

Re: Alternative Gig Bag
I've just ordered this rifle bag/case from ebay, I'll let you know how well it works when it arrives. If you put rifle case into ebay search there are a lot of possibilities particularly in the USA. Just make sure the rifle case is long enough, they come in a number of diferent lengths. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/47-Tactical-Carry-Case-Rifle-Gun-Double-Bag-Black-New-/140584312869?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item20bb7a6025

Re: Alternative Gig Bag
i wonder if a maker on etsy would be interested in making soft cases. someone who makes cordura backpacks like this could make a soft case realtively easily i would think. given a pattern to work off of. example 2 minutes of searching ... http://www.etsy.com/shop/begforabag

Re: Alternative Gig Bag
I really liked your idea jpow112. It looks great! I'm thinking of doing the same. Is it a 36" scale grand stick?
