Post Stereo
Hi all,
I will be playing a few small solo gigs this summer where I don't want to bring a p.a..
But I do want to play stereo for a "wider" sound. This could be done with two small allround amps (like those wonderful Phil Jones suitcases I've heard or Gallien Kruegers) but maybe one of you knows a simpler way? Maybe a stereo amp?
Any thougts? Thanks,

Victor

In the "Equipment" post just before this one, I talked about how much I love the little Yamaha DXR8 speakers, and we also discussed the QSC K8 speakers which are a little nicer but a bit more expensive. Plugging the stereo feed from your preamp/rig into a couple of either of these would be very very compact and the sound quality would be excellent at moderate volume. No need for a seperate mixer with either speaker and you could space them for as much of a stereo field as you like.

Just a thought.

You didn't say whether you were planning on just splitting the two sides of the Stick left and right, or wanting to amplify stereo ambient effects. If it's the latter, and If you can try one of these out, and it has good enough bass response, it might really fit the bill.

You would have a mic input for announcements, singing, guest performers, and 3 additional channels of stereo in, plus an aux in. What you don't get are instrument preamps, individual eq's on the channels, or individual effects send levels.

So a little more info about the rest of your desire setup would hep answer the question.

I use a pair of powered monitors (Alesis M1 Active 620). The mixer is a Boss MX10 (half rack) that goes in a 6-space rack (w/ built-in wheels) with a few other items.

It's a miniature P.A. system that sounds great and is easy to move.

Thanks Greg,
I use a Line 6 podx pro + tc electronics G major for processing. I can set the outputs to whatever I want in each preset. I currently set one output for my bass amp (Mesa Boogie 400+) This amp gets the bass strings and some melody, and one for my melody/ guitar amp (sesionette) This amp gets the melody stings and a little bit bass.
This is a perfect setting for monitoring when my stereo signal goes to the p.a. What I want to try now is to set the outputs to left/right and give both bass as well as melody strings? Am I making this sound more complicated than it is??
I'll check out the Roland!

@ karma,
Thank you,
I' ve read the previous topic, this sounds also very promissing! I' m not sure if I could plug them in directly on my (line6) preamp but if so, this would also be very compact!
