Well Mega, here's how I do it. First shoot the movie then save it to your desktop. Go to youtube and sign in ( you must have an account). There will be a link somewhere on the page after you sign in that says "upload video". Click this then specify the path to your video. It will take some time to upload. Eezy Peezy.

To imbed the video on this site I strongly suggest you watch Samsons video on how to imbed youtube videos (that sentence sounds funny to me for some reason).

This video can be found under "site status and feedback" forum near the bottom of the board index here on stickist.com.

Good luck,

cheers,
kev

Dummies like me too there MT.

Thankfully, there are a lot of experts out there are sharing with their knowledge - I tried photobooth on a Mac, but peeps hated on that. I got some good advice right here on process - do a couple of searches - I think Enrique was the one who turned me on to iMovie and it's simple import / export process.

For what it's worth, I use a Canon rebel (wife's actually :D ) and then export that to a .mov file. I then import it into iMovie, add some simple graphics and ship it. That is, you can upload it to youtube right from within iMovie if you have a Mac.

There are plenty of peeps on the boards here that are good with production, so hopefully some more Stick friends can chime in on that.

I tried to record some video a couple of times, but always got mis aligned audio on the video.
I'm using a Mac, so I have iMovie. Is there a way to simply record and have video and audio in sync ?

Cheers,
Bas

Hey hey BasV! The first 13 weeks of song of the week were recorded using photobooth. A bit grainy and mediocre quality. It will require a camera that has a decent microphone. If you can acquire that, then you can capture the performance, transfer into iPhoto, transfer to iMovie as .mov, and then tweak and post from iMovie.

There has got to be an easier way, I am hoping someone can jump in here and show us the way :D !

I am a PC guy so I do not know about iMovie (been building my own PC's for a looooong time).

I looked up your out of sync issue and there are lots of reports about this. (looks like a bug from an update)

I get my best results when playing along to a backing track by filming in iMovie (I do all my vid work on that) and then switching to Logic and recording in that, then syncing up the audio and video later. I usually add some words here and there to distract people from the fact that I'm not as funny as I want everyone to think, and voila: video completed.
