SOLD - Fully Upgraded Polycarbonate Stick For Sale
Hello, everyone. I'm quite surprised to be announcing that my 10-string Polycarbonate Stick is for sale. What could have possibly have brought me to this? Well, my SG12 is in production and, after thinking it over for a while, I decided that we just can't afford me having three Sticks. I am only playing my 12-string bamboo grand at this point, so here I am, hoping to find a good home for this good old friend. Many of you have read this article on SE's web site: http://stick.com/articles/ericsstickretrofit/That's the one that's for sale. As you can see and read, it was fully upgraded in 2007 by Emmett and Grace. It has a truss rod, a new Stickup, newly dressed frets, new bridge and tail screws, belt hook, and shoulder strap. It is in the same shape it was when I took those pictures. The Stick will include one of the black vinyl-covered, plywood cases, a new set of strings of your choice, a truss rod wrench, and a chord. This would make a great starting Stick for someone and sounds wonderful. I do not want this to go on e-bay, so I will be patient and sell it right here on stickist. Of course, I'm not happy to part with it, but I think the SG is where the future of my music will be heading. I was captured by its sound and I have to have one. Sigh... Oh, the money. I am asking $1,500 + shipping for the instrument and accessories (quite firm). I really am hoping that this will start someone else's musical journey on the Stick, like it did for me. Please email me at eknapp@gmail.com if you are interested. -Eric

Is the fly included in the price? She has beautiful eyes...
Now seriously that's a very nice instrument. If you are looking for a 10 strings and do not plan to do a lot of experimentation with tunings, go for it. Maybe it's my imagination, but those polycarbs have a different and very nice growl in the bass strings.
Cheers, Daniel.

Re: Fully Upgraded Polycarbonate Stick For Sale
Hm.. I'm tempted. I just got my first Megatar about a week ago, and am feeling more and more that I should have gotten a Stick. Mostly, the wide neck is giving me more trouble than I anticipated (I'm of the small-handed variety). I'll have to mull it over a bit for financial reasons and get back to you..

Hi Eric,
I'm asking more for Oskar than myself, but can you vary the string gauge on this one now that it has a truss-rod? Or still need to use light gauge to fit the bridge screws? I have no doubt it would sound great either way!
Regards,
Justin

Justin You can use any gauge strings on it now. I have used light and medium gauge, but not heavies. I have tried Classic, Baritone Melody, and Matched Reciprocal tunings, all with good results. -Eric

Re: Fully Upgraded Polycarbonate Stick For Sale
Excellent, thanks Eric. I'm almost tempted to buy it for myself, but that would be pretty cruel, given there's two or three new guys looking very keen... EG

EG I believe Oskar has first dibbs on it with me hopefully second, so that makes at least two of us new guys looking very keen. If EvilGus were to get it that would make him truly Evil

Looks like another Stick is heading to Australia, congrats Oskar! And a big up to Eric for being such a nice guy to deal with! (I'm helping with shipping, hehehe.)
Cheers,
EG
