What's story/ history on that 7 string on eBay. When were those made? Just asking. Looks kind of cool.

I believe it's the original "SB8" Stick BASS but it's an SB7. Didn't check it in e-bay by the way, just going from memory.

I believe they were made around 1998-1999. Yes, they were the original Stick Bass, until SE switched the design to the current SB8.

And I think there was only one production run of SB7s. So there may be only...50 in existence? Or less?

It was the original "Stick bass" but it was narrower than the SB8 and therefore had a different pickup. The pictures I've seen have a Bartolini in the neck position. The bridge pickup wan not labeled but it wasn't a Stickup as it was its own housing.

I am guessing the 7 string was replaced by the SB8 since the SB8 could share some parts (the biggest being the entire structure) with the standard 10 string Stick as compared to all the "custom" stuff on the 7 string.

Selling one of those here, got some closeups (including fretboard width measuring) and brief description.
