Since I kept the new one in straight fourths tuning, there is a difference in the top end. Also, I'm now using a Helix into a pair of QSC K12 s. I'm finding that using the bass modeling works pretty well, I get plenty of low end. Also doing a mix guitar and bass that's crossed over between 2-3 KHz so now I'm getting a much meatier sound than I'm used to. The fret rails are fantastic, they really bring out RH picking techniques. I'm hearing a bit more clarity when fingerpicking as compared to normal frets.

Now that you've played with it a couple of months, how's the new Wenge NS/Stick, Steve? You mentioned last time I talked to you that the newer model had several playability improvements. I'm curious as to how it compares to your other Sticks. I haven't seen a Skydiver post lately to make me keep wanting to get one.

Loved your Bob pics and videos by the way! Any idea when the next MiStick night might be?

Had a brief stop in playing to focus on guitar for Oz's event in Ypsilanti where I played with our weekly group in a live benefit performance. Back to normal now. The straight fourths tuning is working good, not having too much trouble adjusting to altered tunings. However going to the last guitar workshop at Interlochen drilled us seriously with altered guitar tunings, so that helped. The new NS is far better than my older one, glad I did the upgrade.

Oz and Glenn are still working out details about another Stick event, I may have tossed a monkey wrench in their timing as I have a MTB event that particular weekend. Nothing yet. By the next monthly gathering you can ask that question if it doesn't come up otherwise.
