Love it, great presentation. Another neat trick, instead of using a screwdriver, try using a tuning fork. If you get the fork ringing from enough string hammering, it becomes something similar to the sound of an E-Bow when holding it near the pickup. |

Man, I have absolutely enjoyed both of the Jan Laurenz NS/Stick videos. Just love his style and playing and his videos. I'm an instant fan. Thanks so much for sharing these! I now want to check out his back catalog, and can't wait to get started on my own NS/Stick when it comes! Neat trick with the screwdriver and thanks Steve (MichNS) for the tuning fork idea. I bet that's a neat trick, too! More Jan doing more NS/Stick stuff, please! |

He studied with a flamenco master for a long time. He loves playing interesting instruments and goes through periods of experimentation. I like his ukulele videos a lot. He has had various Sticks over the years including an alto and an SG. His NS/Stick appears to be new to him. He's a consummate musician in a beautiful spot in the world. His outside videos with mountain scenes are near his house. I want to go there! -Eric |

Pick one that gives a good bounce off the strings. Ink pens I don't find to be too musical. I should send Jan one of those small screwdrivers that people put their company logos on, not sure if those are sold in hardware stores, but they make nice dulcimer-hammers-for-guitars too. I remember an article with bassist Percy Jones talking about this many, many years ago, I started experimenting with that also since. Then there's Tony Levin' s modified drumsticks - " Funk fingers". |

Thoroughly enjoyed. Dramatic cat ending (spoiler) was also appreciated. |
