Speaking of classical, I have at times rested the NS on my left leg to play mostly the upper register. You can use two Schubb capos on both sides, I typically put them at the 12th fret. You get pretty close to the same range having 8 strings.

I'd be curious to know what Russell Keating thinks on this as he is big time on the NS these days.

I mean, when he's not making his own instruments...

Yes that is it exactly, or almost. You are counting the frets from the highest pitch down right?
I think that it is the third or forth fret from the bottom w/ two capos and then tuned to
'Guitar Intervals'. You don't have access to the mute of course and in that configuration
with capos engaged you have the open strings in standard guitar tuning -EBGDAE- high to low with a number
of variations for strings 7 & 8. I always tune the seventh string to a low A and the 8th to either F, F#
D or E like Tosin 8-). It is a very fun way to explore the NS especially if you have a guitar background.
