If I remeber right, I picked it up from SE on May 26th 1996 I asked Emmet to sign it and put the date on the back of the headstock, that's why there's such a precise "birthday". I think there's a photo of the signature among the others I sent you. Oh, and I will turn 40 on April the 12th, so feel free to send me a new wenge Grand |

rclere wrote: Congrats on your new NS... I play a bamboo grand, and am thinking of getting an NS like yours... How is the sound? Do you get that "MMMWWWAAAA" that one can get on a fretless bass? How about that mid-range "burp" ie, back pick up on a Fender jazz? The instrument is just beautiful!!! Enjoy!! Hi, Sorry for taking so long to reply. Been awfully busy as you can imagine hehe. To get to your questions, the growl on the Half-Fretless NS is just lovely. It's as smooth or aggressive as you want it to be and the versatility with the pickups is unbelievable. I've tweaked the melody strings EQ to give them a sound very similar to a horn and when I do a tapped chromatic scale the feel is great. Get a Half-Fretless NS, for your own sake hehe. |

Hi Cedric. A long time since your post, but can you comment on whether the Ns half fretless is an easier instrument to play than standard fretless basses? I've had some experience with 4 string fretless and it seems to need a bit of pressure from the left hand, to keep the note resonating well. How's the NS journey going for you? xo |
