Post More NS Stick info from Don Schiff
This answer is in response to a question about the "tool" he uses for slide playing on the NS Stick.

Hi Ray,

Yes, the slide is the 'rope climbing device'. I had to go through home depot asking for it like that or calling it a dog leash hook. However, I discovered it has a name, "Carabiner". Get a question mark shaped one with a clip, and one that has a lot of weight to it. The more it weighs the better it works.

Hold it between your RH 1st and 2nd finger and tap the note you want... move the slide a little and 'listen to the magic'. I first used it on Stick and in fact to me, it works better on the Stick, just be careful hitting the higher thinner strings. If you hit the string directly against the fret, it may snap the string.

Tip: For one handed sliding... (holding the slide between index finger and second finger) use the slide as an index finger and tap with fingers 3 and 4 as well. Then when you want the slide effect, hit that note with the slide.... all the while playin' a bass line.

Enjoy,
Don
