While I was up at Interlochen, the new CD "Anti-Body Reactor" I bought from Gary arrived. Besides some neat MIDI parts Gary adds, Emmett was right about the fantastic drummer Gary found. Not too many drummers out there can do phrasing with rhythms like Setar does. Great prog-rock CD featuring an NS Stick with drums.

I'm a huge progressive rock fan. Are there any bands that you might be able to compare this album too?

I'm somewhat stumped by that question. You can sample Gary's work on his website, perhaps best by the videos:

Taking a shot in the dark, I kind of lean towards Primus in terms of Genre, but Gary's style is more tapping while Claypool to me does more sliding&slapping. Perhaps some of the harder tunes from Micheal Manring's "Thonk" or Gordian Knot which Gary is a big fan of. There's 3 tunes on the CD, each 7-8 minutes long.

I've heard these tracks and they smoke! Intricate NS parts interwoven with complex yet grooving drums. Not like math rock though, because these are well written tunes and are catchy too.Although most prog/crimson fans would love it, it doesn't sound like them at all. Even metal heads and prog/fusion guys will freak when they hear it. Sound quality is perfect to my ears and the production is clear. I find myself totally wanting to steal his licks so I guess thats a good thing right? If you like what you hear on the net, this cd will blow you away.
