Post Re: Suggestions for improvments or options
OK, as I mentioned in the other post, here's another suggestion:

Tone/EQ bypass switch. Just like what you would find in a Warwick Thumb (I used to own a fretless). Rick Turner wrote several articles in Bass Player about this year's back. That was one feature I miss from my Warwick. Being able to turn off the instrument's EQ section made for some nice fat-sounding basslines that came in really clean. No small static or noise could be heard. If I remember right, Turner even sold some basses he setup with nothing more than volume and pickup selectors. I have a wood NS, made of similar Wenge used in Warwick necks.

Don't recall, but that might have been tied in with an active bypass also, which is a nice feature if your batteries go dead.

A Fanned Fret Option would allow the Instrument to have a 36" Scale Length for the Bass Strings giving the notes more depth and character.

I think they're talking about the NS/Stick which is 34" according to the SE site.

Actually, a Tremolo Bar type device would be interesting. Maybe for
the Melody Strings... Of course you would have to reach to the Bridge
to activate it. Hey I know, How about a String Bender like on the
B Bender Telecaster that you could activate with a waist Strap?

I'd like to be able to adjust action and intonation without removing the string from the bridge.

Yes, I reckon a fan of 34-36" would work nicely! My Dingwall has 34-37" scale and the tone is nicely consistent and the low notes are killer! The bass is also good for tapping, so gives you a hint that an NS with similar fanning would we even better! The problem would be how to make the retractable damper work properly on a fairly extreme angle...not to mention a new bridge design, etc...
