Re: NS strings question
From the SE webpage:
String spacing at bridge: 4 melody strings .450" (11.43mm), 4 bass strings .590" (14.98mm), Group spacing .590" (14.98mm) String spacing at nut: .310" (7.87mm)
On the NS, the group spacing is the *same* as the bottom string spacing. This leaves a consistent spacing on the bottom *5* strings (B-G), which is very useful for plucking.
I found the string spacing in general quite generous after coming from a much more narrowly spaced instrument (I had a Megatar for a bit). The wider spacing on the bottom strings is also one of the reasons I went with the NS instead of the SB8.
