...it doesn't look like there's been any new content since 2006.

That sounds about right. I haven't worked on that site for quite some time. Mainly there as a placeholder for the domain, some info on the NS/Stick and a redirect to this site and the NS/Stick forum.

While having your attention, Gentlemen, I'd like to mention that Stick.com now seems to not offer readers a navigation link for the page http://www.stick.com/news/halffretless_ns.html. There used to be a link on the index page inside the "New Models and Features" sidebar, but not any more. May we please have this corrected?

You might want to fire off a message to Greg Howard about this. I'm not involved with Stick.com's website.

Yes, but as there's been some notable changes/updates to the instrument (not to mention some really gorgeous new color combinations with the new bamboo necks), wouldn't it be useful to have those up-to-date? Understand I'm not implying this is your responsibility, Manny, and having to manage our own content on our own website at work, I understand the difficulties of staying current on this stuff.

Point being, even if it's just a "placeholder," its one of the *first* links that comes up in a Google search, and as such I think it would be good marketing to make sure the content at least appears fresh and current. That, or if it's too much work to upkeep, maybe simplify it as a "placeholder" so it's more obvious that's what it's for?

Just my two cents--I know, everyone has an opinion. ;)

I saw this version of the NS Stick in a video but until now did not realize
that it was commercially available.

(Interesting.)

Hi Per,

The half-fretless is not a current option on the NS. That may change, but for now they're not being offered as a standard choice.

Well, not every experiment becomes a smash hit. Whatever the reason might be for withdrawing that option I'm generally happy to see a lot of experimentation going on in the product development department! SE instruments can only get better with that attitude.

Half fretless versions can still be done but it's a bit labor intensive and would add $400. onto the price. Although the fretless sound and expression is great on the four bass strings, the intonation of each note adds another element to the mental concentration needed for two-handed string tapping.

Just to clarify...are we to surmise from this that a half-fretless NS, while still not a "standard" option, might still be a "custom" (albeit expensive, and perhaps long lead-time) option?

It would be exceedingly sad if it ended up not being an option at all... :(

...to get back on-topic, in either case this page probably should be retired: http://www.stick.com/news/halffretless_ns.html

It is, after all (and appropriately so), the *first* page that comes up in a Google search on "half fretless NS Stick." ;)

The half-fretless is a fantastic beast. I was terrified when I ordered it but I'm completely in love with it and would never trade it for a full fretted version.
