Post New NS/Stick Technique. Slap and Tap at same time...
I have been working on this technique where I play slap bass lines and tap the melody line at the same time. I used this to play Jimi Hendrix's 3rd Stone From The Sun.
The right hand is playing the melody line with the ring finger, slap with thumb and pop with index finger. The left hand is tapping and fretting the notes.
One thing I had to get used to was when playing the bass line the first note isn't slapped like on a bass guitar. The tap is enough to play the note but then subsequent thumps are slapped. It took me a bit to get used to that two hand coordination of left tap, right slap in stead of slap slap...

Sorry the video isn't too clear on the hands. It was the best recording take I had and needed to get the video submitted for a contest. Please vote for me at this link...

You son of a bleep! What? Dude that is a SICK technique. Wait, so thats all live right. Even if the lead wasnt its still stick, but that looks live I cant tell ahh. Seriously great work, keep that up. I too see a lot of new frontiers in hybrid NS playing. How does that work with an all clean tone?

Skoool me NS brother, and HAILS!

Thanks Oceans! Yes... It is all live...

I use the Octavia modeled distortion sound from my Pod X3 and it screams. When I hold a note down and slap the vibrations cause the melody side to vibrate too and makes those wonderful noises...

Don't forget to vote for me...

Wow, really nice work! Honestly, the end of the video was a little awkward, but the playing was superb. ;)
