Post NS/Stick in Rocket Scientist Video (Don Schiff)

This is Rocket Scientists - Traveler on the Supernatural Highways. I played NS/Stick and NS/Stick half fretless. It is a 22 minute video of the song. Fun to watch especially if you p;ay NS as I got to use a lot of techniques, tapping of course, plucking, picking and ......... there is a NS feature spot. Just So Ya Know, The bass side and guitar comp side are plucked and strummed at the same time. hard to see as it happens quickly in the riffs. The 'trick' is to thumb pop and at the same time your thumb pops the bass note your index finger (same hand) points to strum the chord. So you can get that strum chord sound and bass not out at the same time on beat one.

A lot of words, have a look. enjoy
Don

The NS/Stick sounds great. Very nice in that context.
I love the fretless parts.

Only had time to take in 6-7 minutes, on headphones, before I had to be out the door for work...looking forward to taking it all in on a larger screen and real speakers later this weekend.

NS/Stick excellence aside, that's some cool music, Don.

Thanks for posting this, Don, nice to hear (and see) real musicians playing real instruments in this age of computer driven songs.
Looks like you all had a blast!

Whoa. It's four track of cello at 10:30, insane. I am sure the NS part is coming up.

The rock and roll pageantry is there. Nothing has changed, just refined, sculpted, scripted, polished, then played with abandon. And Don is the gunslinger. A twist of the wrist, a flicking gesture of the hand, and that stylistic layer is complete - icing on the cake.

The weapon of choice is the half fretless NS/Stick and Don speaks musical volumes as if he's played it all his life. But then, he's played them all, anything with strings, probably fretless too. I think that's why he took to all those Stick strings in the first place - can't get enough strings.

There's a vision to Eric Norlander's assemblage of talent and with all the instrumentation and electronic panels, it is indeed rocket science or the equivalent thereof - the cutting edge in human performance via space age controllers. A jet pilot would have a hard time reading all the parameters and values, much less manipulating the controls.

Thanks to Don and Eric, for featuring the NS/Stick as an integral part of this dynamic band.
