Witnessing Jibilian / Setar for the first was unreal. Crazy syncopation and lots of tightly integrated parts. Watching Gary stack up loops with such precision in a live setting with a cat like Jay was impressive.

And then on top of all that, Gary's the kind of guy that will give you the shirt off his back if he thinks you need it more. While I only met Jay for a moment, he seemed to be cut from the same cloth.

On the day Gary came to FHA (Friday), Jen and I sat down for lunch, and at our table was Gary. Everyone was having a nice time chatting, and then Gary mentioned that aside from the finish work he does at S.E., he also works on the electronics.
This prompted me to ask him if he remembered an R-Block coming back for melody side pickup replacement because it got damaged by the owner trying to install a flat belt hook pedestal using screws that were too long. He remembered it and wondered what the guy's name was. I told him it was Luc Bergeron, and he said, "Yes, right, that's it." I smiled and said "Yeah, that was me." We both had a good chuckle. He was very gracious about it and said that he'd done similar stuff himself over the years. So I got to meet, chat, and have lunch with with the guy who fixed my pickup module. Just another very cool little story among so many that week. Gary's a gem.
