Thanks MichNS. Did you glue some felt or something onto the surface to prevent any scratches? I can see how your Grand would be protected, but the butt of the NS looks like it would be making contact with wood. Thanks.

I just use a regular guitar stand for my NS. As long as your NS doesn't have a GK-3 pickup controller mounted on back, a regular guitar stand works fine. Just make sure to get a solid one that has a large enough opening on top for the neck.

I know this is not what you meant, but it is a stand. ;)

I sometimes use the gracie stands that make the instrument playable in standup position ,hands/shoulder free. Like keller williams uses. Its funny cause I got a circus act where I have the 10 string and NS on stands so you can play both at same time and you look insane.

See I can play so much better sitting than standing, its so damn annoying. Even one stick night I played cross legged on the floor, but that was 'I think' deemed almost disrespectful so I stood up the other times.

Can I claim I am an indian sitarist who "needs to sit"? ha,or pull a fripp and just have people give me shit and think I am lazy or don't care about the audience stage show.

My fondest memory of playing with stands at a new year party was these 2 drunken "ladies' where trying to bump and grind the stands(or me :o ) and i managed to keep playing whist my face turned super red and I was like trying to dig the "lades" enthusiasm. SO funny, man that will never happen again but you know those party shows where its just out of control.

Normally if someone is fracking with my setup I'd get pissy and shoot them with my (top secret) dart gun filled with mind altering drugs. but well, due to the hypnotic nature of the chicks it was ok.

WOW, I go off on unrelated topics. my bad .... ha

That Stick stand already has felt lining in that slot, even on the shallow walls. Forgot to add, I also have a Proline guitar stand that also works:

I've had a few freebies from buying other items at the GC. Not all guitar stands will work with an NS, I have a "Fretrest" guitar stand and the neck slot is too narrow. Will not fit at all.

I use the cheapest stand they sell at Guitar Center.

I may have had to widen the neck part but it works very well!
