Post subject:  I have entered that alternate universe

I have entered that alternate universe called,, "waiting for my new NS stick to be built". (tic tic tic)
I have abandoned my 10 string stick lessons, then sold it to a nice fellow from NYC area, and immediately ordered an NS.
Time to introduce myself,,,, I'm Randy D from Western NY, South of Rochester, east of Buffalo, center of nowhere, beautiful country, fields and trees.
I've been a guitarist (mostly 70-80's metal) and part time bass player (mostly my own Prog) for 35 something years. I'm a "crim-head" form the 70's.
Why I'm here.....
The NS seems to be a better fit. With the 10 string stick, I'd wake up with a song idea in the middle of the night, grab the stick and .... crap,,, strings are upside down and tuned funny, my mind rejecting the inversion, and before the idea slips away,,, i grab the bass or guitar, flip on the DAW and record it. I'm not putting the stick down at all,, its an amazing instrument. I think for me the NS will be a better fit.
I've done nothing but ~more~ research and I've added hardware (amp, 2 channel processor, looper).

Hi Randy,

Welcome to Club NS!

I never owned a "traditional" Stick but I have been where you were mentally. I have 20 years of bass guitar and I just wasn't about to turn everything upside down just to get bass and melody on the same instrument. When I have ideas in my head I am able to go to my NS and work it out pretty easily. Usually start with a melody idea and work it from there.

I do think that when I have a little money I would pick up the "traditional" Stick but for now the NS just works for me. Plus I can still call myself a "Stickist"!

I wish I can do something ridiculous but then I would have to carry it...

For now I just have my big pedal board and send one line to the front of house PA. Super Easy set up and tear down...
