 This is amazing! Not just that you played everything and you are new to the NS but
the video editing flows with the music perfectly (I could not skip ahead but was mesmerized;-). Can you share some of the screen and video capture editing techniques (software)
with some of us novice or want-to-be film makers?

The timing, the colors, transitions, even if not exactly my cup of tea are never the less stunning, especially full screen on my monitor.

I want to be able to do that. BTW, from the very first scene I thought of "Time" I thought that it was just a nod to PF and that you were going to do something original, a cool idea in itself but to capture the essence in the first few seconds with new and I believe 'appropriated'(?) imagery and then not exactly give your hand away is a small artistic achievement in it's own right. Thanks.

thank you!,,,

I did a version of Comfortably numb with some friends, and while i was learning that, I decided to take a shot at time, but did it my way.....
I use Photoshop CC, premier pro CC and after effects CC for the imagery and video post, Sonar Platinum for the audio.

Usually the visuals are just a medium to deliver the audio.
I'm back to doing originals for a bit now, have 2 in the cooker.....

"appropriated" - Just so you know - I have permission for everything i used, a lot of the imagery was from a local photographer I mention on the youtube page. The Nasa stuff is for the public.

with some of the other videos I have up on youtube I shot all the footage
with various cameras....

it all goes together...

 Hey thanks for responding, I thought maybe you had a 'ticket to ride' on the space shuttle...

I watched the Time video again and the color and de-solve transitions are just great and meaningful in regard to the music. Two art forms beautifully blended, but I appreciate your modesty ;).

I do think, or believe, that 'appropriating' imagery is one of the art forms of our times; reframing and re contextualizing is
important because a new context can revitalize an image or clip in a way that gives it a
new way of being perceived and we are living in an unprecedented ocean of images.

The gears clicking in the beginning of your video, I assume, originally, had nothing to do with PF.
But when they are put together a new life time is born out of the two. I love this...

Yes, but what about the music? Say hi to Roger for me :| . I was not being accusatory in
making an assumption about "appropriated" art. Personally I think it is courageous.
Not like 'base jumping' courageous but like facing the spinning gyre of art and gambling a
little to see if something new pops out courageous.

Thanks again, I have software to learn :geek: ...

kind words all!

yeah, i meant the imagery of coarse.... 8-)

that cover might be the only way I can thank PF for years of great music!!

(besides paying for albums/cds . . . )

even being able to post stuff here with some of these guys (and you) is an honor.

Peace!!

Rando!

Amateur hour , my foot!

Your playing and voice are very distinctive, very inspiring. You're definitely furthering my case of GAS for an NS.

Cheers

Curiously enough, one of the next videos on the Tube revealed this.

One of the most colourful concepts was an galactic bow shock. Could be good material for another piece...?!
