musical journey of discovery
Why do we play music. To get rich? No..... Fame? Not happening. Enjoyment? Yes. Gratification in accomplishment? Indeed. The Stick in my mind is this unbelievable mysterious sonic tool that fulfillls an inner impulse. Exploration and creative avenues are totally offered for the willing. I have found great satisfaction in discovering and practicing techniques and ideas. Learning tunes and arrangements are deeply rewarding. Sharing this in communication with students is also extremely gratifying. A huge thanks to Emmett Chapman for devoting his life's work to further the musical spirit. We are living through history via Emmett's dedication. Keep this in mind next time you pick up your ax. Stay thirsty.

Re: musical journey of discovery
Wonderful words. In my case, I also struggle, and the pain of the struggle often colors the reality of discovery. I should mellow out more and realize that musical unfolding often occurs in short practice sessions (as that's the only duration I can deal with ).
But aside from that, Steve describes the Stick, and its relation to us as the wielders of this musical tool, quite nicely.
Thanks for that!

Talking to Mr.Chapman on the phone the other day was a pleasure and a privilege. another day at the office for him and another day of Stick knowledge for me. Thanks to Mr. Chapman and the team at Stick Enterprises.

Yeah Tone-Eleven.
That pretty much sums up the bleeding edge of enthusiasm. It was a nice reminder.
Cheers

Fine words, I'll just agree with all of the above, its quite a journey indeed, going out again tonight to escape the "real world" & plug in , play and just hang out with a bunch of people who populate Melbourne's vigorous music scene. Soul Food.
