Post WTB Stickup
Hi,

A Stick playing friend/student here in South Australia is looking for a Stickup.
He owns an AC-2 equipped Stick, but the cost of shipping back and forth to the US for retrofit is prohibitively high, plus the instrument is Rosewood, which I've heard requires special certification these days (more money).
Thought this would be the place to ask if anyone might have a spare pickup instead?

Thanks,
Andy

Hi Andy,

Does your friend know that he will have to re-drill the mounting holes and that there will be gaps around the module? Has he contacted Emmett to ask about it?

Cheers from balmy Virginia...

Been down that path before (self-fitting) and didn't work out that well. I'd recommend your friend try the ACT-2 reversed, first, see if they like the different sound. It does sound a bit more like a Stickup, still one of my favourite tones. I have plenty of old recordings I can share, if that would help.

Cheers,

EG

Hi guys,

It's freezing in South Oz - hope you're well!
Greg - yes, Paul is aware of the size/fiting issues, and he did contact Emmett.
Normally I'd advise against it, but I think he has a good idea what he's dealing with, plus he's got someone who can do this type of work expertly. I will suggest that he tries reversing the ACT-2 as a first option, thanks Justin.

Cheers,
Andy
