So in the last instalment I got back to a previous venue. It was the R&B night for the house band but they asked if I could come in and do a few on the STICK. They were were really good by the way. After a while we got to Stick time. Idea was do a couple solo and then get one or more from the band to join in. Good crowd in again, this venue seems pretty popular.
After much ado from the host ( no pressure! ) about the " amazing chapman stick" I began with a latin like piece that is a good way to introduce the instrument. Moved on to Layla to include one with vocals.
Finished with "New Blue" and got the drummer to join in. I've been doing this for a while. The Video shows about the last half, I've expanded the bass line in the last part and beginning to make it a little more interesting , it always comes out slightly different around some core themes, but its fun to add some spontaneity in that sense.
So wrapping up after 7 mini gigs in Singapore I may not be that great in serious stick skill terms yet but I'm comfortable with the performance & stage side much more than I was 6 months ago.
And thats all part of the grand plan. I'll get my serious beginner ribbon soon! Out.

Congrats. Big time progress. Playing out with other musicians is a great growth experience. You look comfortable in the stage environment. Positive sonic enjoyment will be all yours looking toward the future .

Such amazing places you get to on your little boat. And yes, both Ambassador, and Missionary, Bruce, of Stickland, spreading the Gospel of Stick to lands far and wide, and rocking jazz lounges and bars from sea to rolling sea. You're my hero!

Thanks everyone, been amazing in Singapore for sure.
We're half way down the south china sea now toward Bali Indonesia , where I can finally jump off, relax in nice hotel with beer for the afternoon and catch the overnighter flight down to Melbourne.
