Stick Tune - Dreaming (Yngwie Malmsteen Cover)
This one was a lot of fun to put together for my daily "end of practice" ritual. I thought I'd share it, 'cause it was fun. A lot of fun. Yngwie rules! https://soundcloud.com/jayesskerr/stick-dreaming-yngwie-j-malmsteen-cover

I am starting to get blown away by the sheer number of tunes you are posting. Everything is getting better. All your woodshed time is paying off big time. Keep up the great work.

I love this, Scott, although I've never heard the original before.

Hey dude, again.....real nice. I dig how your left hand is actually pulling the bassline in an eight note cornucopia as opposed to a three note arpeggio (my crutch). That's tough to do me thinks, so ....props to that man. Very Bach like, Mozart like.......a Mach piece so to speak (Nigel Tufnel).
Never was a fan of Wingvee.......and like Mr.Sink, I'm not familiar with the tune....but I get that he's a super accomplished guitar wanker....
Again bro, nice job.
Ps Hotter than Hades here in the YYZ......32 Celsius yesterday.
Cheers, Big Ears

Cheers, Big Ears Hey man, thanks for checking it out; I pretty much read a tune down every day. Some are more successful than others to be sure, but I always hit record since I am dialled into my recording system. Lol some of the tunes are good enough to listen to so I share 'em so you guys can have something to make fun of. Thanks for noticing my LH sequence, I avoid the ones everyone else does like the plague! Yep, Yng is king of the Shred, he rocks! Not so warm in GP... ummm 16degrees Celsius I think. I just did his main riffs, and then the vocal melody. Oddysey was probably Yngwie's most commercially viable album I'd say, but he's still going strong. Heavily neoclassically influenced... tons of fun. Jzzb8ovn wrote: I am starting to get blown away by the sheer number of tunes you are posting. Everything is getting better. Ha! You're unbelievable, in a good way. Well I remember this tune, it was near the peak of my Yngwie obsession & I'm not to proud to admit it. Far beyond the Sun is still my Favourite though. Good fun to see you churning out this stuff. And Kev , he's not really a guitar wanker, just the best player in the world, and he would be the first person to tell that that to everyone!
I understand many green rooms were enlarged to fit the ego in. Cheers People.

Re: Stick Tune - Dreaming (Yngwie Malmsteen Cover)
Y'know, I've met Yngwie a couple of times, I thought he was actually pretty easy going, really twisted sense of humour though! He does love his Ferraris... haha Yeah, I am very happy that I can play the Stick at a basic level now, it took a bit of work, but I feel like I am ready to "begin". The two hands thing makes way more sense now, so it's a lot of fun to put together a tune, plus I can do it pretty quickly which makes me very happy! Playing a Malmsteen tune on the Stick, well that was kind of a goal of mine. Even though I played something pretty easy, with none of his solos, I still learned a lot from playing it. And, it was fun! Thanks for listening, guys!
