Another big Stick album posted
Album 9 is done. It's another adventure for MR and DBR Grand Sticks. It features nine themes scattered throughout the album. You might have to listen a few times to catch all the deja vu. I think it gets more interesting as the variations morph and double back on one another.
You can listen . The score is posted .

Again, I hear F.Z. in the writing (and in the first Stick solo). Maybe it's that writing w/out an instrument...Cool

No, Greg, but thanks for mentioning them! Just now checking them out on YT. How did I miss these guys?
As for FZ, the only album of his I've ever really listened to is Jazz from Hell. I guess the Synclavier left a lasting impression.
My main influences are Crimson, Bruford, Mahavishnu, and some ECM Records guys.

Re: Another big Stick album posted
Probably because i grew up on Frank it reminds me of my favorite times of Waka/Jawaka & The Grand Wazoo also the band after that w/ Duke, Brock, Ruth, & Fowler bros. But yeah, i hear the best of Bruford's writing & Mahvishnu. As for Happy The Man, my prog buds were always opening my ears to WHAT ELSE I SHOULD BE LISTENING TO. I was a jazz snob @ Berklee and my friend put on K.C. "Fracture" and said "You're either gonna hate this or love it." I was playing upright & electric fretless Precision bass at the time and I immediately started breaking bass strings 'cause I wanted THAT SOUND...
