Continuing a step farther from last month's scale rudiments video, I present a 4th rudiment, the half/whole/half rudiment. This 4 note rudiment opens up a ton of cool scalar ideas very quickly, and helps me see the rudiments more in octave chunks across 3 strings rather than having to see everything in one position. As always, exercises and more are available at http://www.patreon.com/jgoldbergmusic. Enjoy!

Re: Scale concepts - Half/whole/half rudiment
OK, now your just messing with me...
Seriously though, that was pretty cool. At some point you should revisit your pentatonic scale topic, and show how it fits into this.... In fact, I'm going to go find that video and re-watch it now.

Re: Scale concepts - Half/whole/half rudiment
Hi Josh.
Another great vid. I would like to see you play more short improv with each of these ideas/scales, nothing epic. I feel it helps to get used to the tone colours and possibilities.
I've got a few more videos in the tank with this scale rudiments concepts coming up. One's already been finished and I'm waiting to release it, but I'll try to incorporate these suggestions into the 4th video.
