Playing with Tony Levin
Hi everyone. This one is slightly Stick related. I got to play guitar on the standard "Joy Spring" with Tony Levin over the summer. https://youtu.be/66AbMGbfjE0?t=3m22s

I didn't know Tony Levin was (interested in) playing jazz standards...and he's doing that on a NS Steinberger double bass...nice.

Alain, last year I was fortunate to do an opener for The Levin Brothers jazz group. Originals and standards, TL swung like crazy on his NS bass and cello. Rare event but it does happen. They have a CD available

Steve A Wow...lucky you. I see his bass is a 5 strings. When I bought my electric cello in 2009, I paid around 3,500$ US (including custom and taxes) if I remember well. Later, I've seen in Montreal a hybrid one...mid cello-mid bass for 2,000$ can (1550$ US...more or less)...too late... Even though I'm mainly a guitar player, I love to play bass...specially in jazz. So interesting. And I'm crazy about these salsa bassists...they are so amazing the way they play the "tumbao" and then play a lots of punches in unission with their band...crazy these guys...lol.
