 Sticks near Asheville?
Hi. I am a nylon string guitar player and for a couple of decades I have been laboring to play bass lines, background chords and melody lines all at roughly the same time. I can sort of do it, but not to my satisfaction (which reflects on me, not the instrument). However, I just 'discovered' the Chapman stick on the internet (although I have been vaguely aware of it since the mid '80s), and to say that I am overwhelmed is putting it mildly. I guess my story is as common as mud. Anyway, are there any stick owners within, say, 100 miles of Asheville who would let me come and look at (and maybe try playing) one of these marvelous things in person?
Thanks, Scott Murphree

 Re: Sticks near Asheville?
Hi Scott,
I live just over the hill (the big one) in Knoxville. I sent you contact info in a PM. Gimme a shout.
BTW, I have been playing (Stick) a little over 2 years and have a guitar background in both classical & electric styles.

Scott, I just joined the list, and Jeff pointed me to your post. I live in Asheville and would be happy to give a chance to try out a Stick if you're still looking for an opportunity. Send me a PM if you're interested.

Not sure if you guys are still around Asheville, but Flint Blade and I will be playing a gig together Thursday night (Oct 20) at Firestorm Cafe, 8:30pm.
