Re: Stick eye candy - new "Hot Shots" Gallery
greg wrote: Hi David, Glenn wrote the code, Emmett took the pics, I'm putting it all together, but the people who deserve most of the credit are Grace and the rest of the people in the shop, who do such a great job making these instruments, and to Emmett who designed them, and spent so much time coming up with the right materials and processes for using them. They really are beautifully made, and the finish is quite care-free. I'm slowly propagating these new shots throughout the website. So soon, every page will have pics that better represent what the instruments really look like. There are lots of pages on the site, though, so it will take a little time. For example, this page shows the four different tuners on a variety of structural materials: Tuners: http://www.stick.com/instruments/tuners/More to come... Greg, I couldn't agree more with all the above! And rolling it out over the whole site over time is great - and quite a task as you say! My thanks again - these pics are really helpful for those of us newbies wishing to order an instrument - particularly as it's hard to see a Stick "in the flesh" here in Scotland. I'm sure that's true in lots of other places too, so the website is really finding it's purpose. Regarding the dyed bamboo finishes - do you know if there's a definitive list of colours available? (If so, where?) And (see my last post) is blue an option? If not, could it be considered as a new option??! --David

Re: Stick eye candy - new "Hot Shots" Gallery
I love the stick web site because it has so much to offer. But what about, and I know most wouldn't need this, but then again..... What about a one stop tuning shop??? With audio examples of all the different tunings, broken down string by string?? Would it be helpful? Maybe, maybe not. Would it be a pain to set it up on the site? Probably. Forgive me if this sounds ridiculous.

You can see all of them together on this page: http://www.stick.com/instruments/bamboo/There will also be a Deeper Brown dark bamboo. The Red is currently called "sunset" on the hotshots page. Emmett says they are looking for more colors. Thanks for the suggestions.

Thanks for the list of colours, and for taking the suggestion on board. For anyone interested, here is a photo of my translucent blue Yamaha TRB-5 mkII - pic isn't that wonderful but it's just to give some idea of how nice the blue stain looks. Imagine a Stick that colour - or a little darker maybe? (Flash has made the blue appear a little brighter than it looks under normal light) --David

Hi David, That's a beautiful blue. I would imagine it's possible, but I'm not the guy who does the dye, so Emmett would have to see. As far as the rest of the gallery goes, I've added three more instruments, and things are a bit reordered, so loo around and you will see: rosewood 10-string: another paduak Grand Stick, this time with pearlescent silver linear inlays. graphite SB8 There are 21 photo series in all, and I'm sure there will be more to come shortly: http://www.stick.com/instruments/hotshots/

Re: Stick eye candy - new "Hot Shots" Gallery
I actually have a light bamboo Stick dyed blue on order. So hopefully we'll get some shots in the coming months . I asked if they had blue, and they said they could mix some dye for me. So if you have a custom color in mind, it doesn't hurt to ask, they might be able to make it for you.

Make sure and post pics when it arrives!! Good to know this as I am becoming increasingly keen on the idea of a blue Stick...
