Post New NS/Stick necks - bamboo with Rails!
Hi everyone,

Following the success of bamboo as a material for Stick of all types, Emmett is introducing a new neck for the NS/Stick, made of laminated dark bamboo, with smaller Rails precision tapping frets instead of the conventional jumbo bass guitar frets.

Read about this new neck production at:

Happy tapping, picking, plucking, strumming, etc.

Dang it all, Emmett! I was just getting settled in and comfortable with my current NS, and now you have to roll this out and give me a GAS attack all over again! ;)

That bamboo neck looks sweet! Very sweet! What's the weight like? Did any of the Masters have a chance to play the prototype? How do the rails do with slapping/popping?

...now, where's my Prilosec? ;)

Very nice evolution, even though the old style Bass frets play great.

I guess the half fretless option is no more!?

Don had a chance to check it out. He posted about that and some other things on stickwire. You can read his post here:

Half fretless versions can still be done but it's a bit labor intensive and would add $400. onto the price. Although the fretless sound and expression is great on the four bass strings, the intonation of each note adds another element to the mental concentration needed for two-handed string tapping.

I appreciate all the compliments on the new photos so far. "Sweet" I can understand (I think so too), but "moist" - I just don't know.

Best, Emmett.
