 Re: hate mail!
Basically, there's good criticism and there's bad criticism. The former generally originates from a place of honesty and integrity.

Everyone who plays piano gets this but you continue to screw up your work with this fault.
It makes no sense.
Maybe it's your arrogance.

 Re: hate mail!
.... Words to live by Greg!... absolutely the best advise. Thank you for posting that. For years I felt "inadequate" as a musician because I couldn't sight-read sheet music (in real time) and wasn't formally trained. After a while I started to realize that many of the famous musicians I looked up to were just the same... (Django Reinhardt, Jeff Beck, etc...) greg wrote: I harbor no illusions about my own failings as a musician, and I'd encourage any of you who feel like you aren't "good enough" to not let those feelings stop you from sharing your creativity with the world.

LOL! I was sad that I couldn't make a good living in music - until I found out that most of my musical heroes also are amateur players

 Re: hate mail!
To go just a little deeper into this topic; I've found that for the taste in music that I have it doesn't make artistic sense to work fulltime as a performing musician anyway. That is because I tend to dig personal expression and a storytelling approach in instrumental music, and if a musicians rarely does other activities than performing his music - what story shall his music then tell?

 Re: hate mail!
I love Greg´s music and his playing. Would love to meet Greg one day since I´m convinced he´s also a great person that would be fun to hang with. My two cents regarding this.....
Allt the best//Jan
