Re: Divine Expletive!
Cool, that's basically the configuration that I originally ordered back in September. Then Cambria told me it would be a while before I could get a dark bamboo one unless I was okay with it being pre-channeled for the MIDI pickup, so I switched to rosewood.

Re: Divine Expletive!
There has been no response as yet from Stick Enterprises; the order was placed exactly nine hours ago.
I discovered two hours later that my grandmother's email account was set to automatically delete suspected SPAM at the ISP level, which I corrected immediately, so it is possible the email was lost due that insanely stupid default setting.
I plan to call tomorrow at 3:30PM Stick Time if no response has been received by then, just in case.
EDIT: The plans are pretty much in place already; there will be a firing squad of photographers as I put knife to tape.

So excited for you! Your Grandma is the best!!! Now the waiting begins.... As for the Gurney Halleck's Baliset, there are a few videos on You Tube that have isolated that exact scene that you have lost. You still can show her that modified one that Patrick Stewart played. I think she might get a kick out of seeing Emmett on What's My Line. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGcvHgXtgiY

No doubt! My grandmother can restore your faith in humanity in 30 minutes or less. Now that I'm living with her (I moved in recently, after my grandfather died), I'm realizing more and more how much I owe my favorite aspects of my father to her. Regarding Dune, I ended up showing her one of those videos; gotta love my fellow geeks. I am saving What's My Line? for a time when she is less tired, though. On a totally unrelated note, Greg Howard is awesome. I really hate that I'm going to have to miss his concert next week.

News from Stick Enterprises
I just got off the phone with someone I have to presume was Cambria. She gave me some food for thought: - Due to the different dimensions of the Blocks, my Stick will not be able to support both the Stickup and the PASV-4: it is one or the other.
- The build time is estimated to be between three and six months.
It seems obvious that I should take the versatility—and more relevant development platform—of the PASV-4 Block, but I have to make sure that the extra $400 will not be the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back (all the more important because someone is doing me a big favor). Furthermore, I am hesitant to commit to a six month wait because that period of time could include: - The release of the Railboard
- Lots of shifts in the used market, both private party and via Stick Enterprises
- Reserve instruments which meet my requirements
This isn't about being cheap or impatient; I am just so accustomed to being short of money that I want all of my spending to be optimally beneficial. Please give me some perspective, folks. EDIT: Do any of you have any insight into how Stick Enterprises manages their production runs? I am wondering if I can compromise a little and help fill out a batch.

I just received mine a couple weeks ago, and it took just a hair over six months. They said things got a bit backed up in the shop. You could ask them about the Railboard factor, if that is a big deal to you. The used market is hard to gauge, and among other things it depends on what you want. If you're looking for a Grand like I was, you may have a bit of a wait. Ditto on the reserve instruments: I had watched the reserves for about 9 months before finally deciding to order one custom, and it seems like there was usually at most one Grand per reserve run and it more or less immediately disappeared.

Re: Divine Expletive!
For what it's worth Rob: I placed my order about a month ago when I was told the wait was 3-5 months and roughly a week ago I got another email to confirm my options. So they're probably pretty backed up!

Re: Divine Expletive!
I am pretty much committed to ordering new with a PASV-4 Block now that I have come up with modifications for said pickup. Should I wait to reply to the email I know is coming, or just call?
