A tip of my cap for our international community
I just got back from my friends wedding, where I met friends old and new from many corners of the planet (Australia, the UK, Brazil, Rome, Palestine, US) and it really brings home how great it is to have such a wonderful international community here and in the larger stick community.
So, I know that there have been some very heated debates elsewhere on this sight involving people from varied backgrounds, I for one really love and salute the diversity of the stick community. It really is a small world.
Cheers Brett
P.S. I'm hoping for play some Italian gigs and make more international friends next summer.

Definitely a magical time to be a Stick no matter where you are. Glad to hear you had a good time and that you are back on the ground, safe and sound.

Oh I'm fine, when you live a little over an hour from NYC the international community often comes to you!! I only had an hour drive to see everyone!! Brett

Indeed- I was in Barcelona last week and my wife and I met up with Guillermo Cides and his family, it was a lovely extended lunch and a nice change from doing the standard tourist stuff, very cool to have that connection with people from all corners of the planet!

Barcelona is a city I'd really love to go to! This summer I hosted a Brazilian friend, that now lives in Barcelona, here in Stockholm. He's not a Stick player though, just a phenomenal Brazilian guitar player and singer. There's a lot of talk these days about the birth of this new "Homo Globalis" species but as for musicians the community vibe has always been global, even before the internet.
