Re: de Visée on Theorbe
Try checking that bad boy at the gate on your next flight.
No for realz though, what an amazing performance. The location was also exquisite, thanks for sharing - a relaxing way to start our Saturday.

Glad you enjoyed it. I get into such a cool vibe when I listen to stuff like this. If anyone's interested, there's a whole hour of de Visée out on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5AIpJC5LcA. [embedded this for you~Manny]

Re: de Visée on Theorbe
jwanka, Wow- what a beautiful performance! Would you believe that comes with a D-Tuna…. but you need an assistant on a ladder to pop it! It is wonderful members like you that share these musical ideas to bring sonorities like this to the light of day and enrich us all! I thank you. I agree with Gene- definitely Saturday morn music - perfect and peaceful. take care, Dave Brosky

LOL...I had this image of a grumpy old janitor-lookiung guy slowly coming out on stage, setting up a step-ladder and then popping the D-tuna, doing a big "hrumpf.." and then taking the step-ladder off stage. Only to have to do it again in a minute or two to put it back on. And then the guy playing having to actually wait. There's a comedy skit in there someplace, I'm sure. =)

Re: de Visée on Theorbe
That video is quite amazing. I watched it in Baroque History class last year.
The theorbo is probably the best kept Baroque secret. Most of the strings just drone so nicely and the setting is quite perfect. A remarkable instrument.
