Free Hands Friday #16 - Dale Ladouceur
Free Hands Friday #16 is a wrap and what a grand time we had with Dave Brosky leading an all-star cast of Stickists through an entertaining and informative Q & A session with Canadian Stickist Dale Ladouceur.
Dale kicks off a month highlighting Stickists from the Great White North! Dave and company had a great time learning more about how Dale composes on the Chapman Stick as well some of her favorite inspirations.
Zappa!
The session had some familiar faces as well as some new ones. Glad to see film maker Dan Chapman and Canadian Stickist Joel Neufuld back on the call. Joel is anticipating a new Railboard in the next few weeks! Anybody looking to buy an Alto? Also, STOKED to see the mighty Ric Byer on the session. Some great insight was gleaned by all and Dave and Dale wrapped it up really nicely.
We also announced that Dale will be joining the Instructional staff at the Free Hands Academy later this Summer. Add that to the list of instructors currently on the bill and you have what is looking to be a Stick event for the ages!
Be sure to catch Dale next week for Free Hands Friday #17 when she leads the discussion with Canadian Stickist Kevin Chiasson!

Someday my business' staffing and my own personal office space will be at a point where I can actually sit in on one of these. It's kinda bumming me out missing these FHF's week after week!

I posted this on Facebook but just wanted to repeat it here:
Dale has the enthusiasm of a newcomer with the refinement of a musical veteran. Something we should all strive for. Check out the video and get inspired.

Was the session rescheduled at the last minute? I hung around for about two hours (from 1:30 EST) and never saw any sign of the hangout starting.

It had been scheduled for 12pm PST or 3pm EST, which is generally when we star these. You can always call me or drop a line if it gets out of hand like that again. Sorry for any confusion.

Re: Free Hands Friday #16 - Dale Ladouceur
Cool session with Dale, Dbro is a good host! Hope to see some beginner types next week. I want to shed some light on how to get that first song under your belt and perhaps save you a year of just messing around and making noise....... If I can play the Stick......anyone can..... see you next Friday....
cheers, kev
