Of course... Can I ask you...what is your tuning? I think the original key for this song is Bm...And when I look at your fingers it doesn't seem to be that key. Again, the second chord (which for me would be a Em) is too mudy. Maybe that is because you play it in another key. Low interval limit my friend...look at this and you'll sound so much better. I'm saying this because you improve a lot with your hands independance. The other aspect (low interval limit) is so easy to solve...lol...good day.

I'm saying this because you improve a lot with your hands independance. The other aspect (low interval limit) is so easy to solve...lol...good day. I am tuned to Matched Reciprocal; The recording I used was off of Bill Withers "Just as I Am" album. The song is definitely in A minor, and although I practice in all 12 keys for all of my tunes, I decided to play it in the native key. (Amin7 implied by an Amin triad then E-G, followed by an Emin7 and then a Dmin7) I can play it in Baritone, Mirrored 4ths, Classic, and RMR, but I have settled on MR for my grand, and RMR for my Railboard. I sure hope that's okay... I am aware of the "Low Interval Limit" , but in this instance I am okay with how it sounds. It's just a snapshot in time of how I play it today as opposed to two years ago, so although I am sorry you find it offensive it "is what it is". I could easily jump octaves on either bass or melody side, but my videos aren't "showcase" material, but rather a reference point. So yeah, I'm just showing where I'm at after two years is all. I feel like I came a long ways, but I've never said I was good, or even competent on the instrument. As for improving my hand independence; I am aware that I am not very good at this instrument, just thought I'd share what I do along the way.

Re: Ain't No Sunshine - Take two
Just want to be constructive...that means the second chord is Dm...isn't it? That's the one I have some doubt about.
No offense at all. Sorry if I did. It's not my goal...

Yes, the second chord in the "chorus" is a Dmin.
lol All good, man. No worries, I'm not offended or anything and I take everyone's suggestions under consideration. I post this stuff for reference, really. Whether or not I get around to implementing them right away is hard to say... You should read some of the Youtube messages I get. One would think that how I play this stuff is gonna give rise to another Hitler or something hahaha Oh well the good news is that barely anyone sees this stuff, and I delete 'em off the youtube after a few weeks anyways.
Thanks again for the feedback.

This song is getting a lot of traction. I use it to teach groove and flavor. Noodle and vamp on the progression ala Wes Montgomery's Bumpin' On Sunset

Sorry again...I'm a lot more positive than that...Just wanted to help a bit...lol...good day...

Re: Ain't No Sunshine - Take two
hahaha Alain, just trying to be "light" and let you know it's cool; Nothing on you my man!
Every time I post a Stick video video on youtube I get some nasty messages, it's kind of funny. I think a few guys really hate what I try to do, and they sometimes post on the videos. So yeah, a little bit of feedback here is no problem at all, that's all. Don't want you to think I'm mad or anything, I appreciate the feedback and someone taking the time to check it out.

I had a random guy post on one of my Stick performance videos "I could only watch for a couple of seconds before it drove me crazy...not a fan!" Okay, thanks so much for taking the time to let me know that! It took you longer than that to post that encouraging thought, so thanks--I guess! YouTube commenters are the worst!

Well, you know that the "take away" there is that at least they watched! At least they commented. At least what you did had some sort of impact on them. I figure that if I post a tune or a riff, then I had best be prepared to expect pretty much any reaction. Sometimes people react unexpectedly. I value your guys' opinion here, and appreciate every comment, every view, and every attempt to discuss; even if we disagree we are at least talking about music, right?
