If focusing only on sheet music as a beginner you run the risk of rewiring yourself into becoming a carbon based playback devise . If that isn't your intention I suggest you start by exploring the tools of expression the Stick brings - for any music, composed or improvised. I'm a total beginner too ... |

Lots of fine logical and mathematical explanations given. Myself I'm on my fourth day with 12 stringed MR STick here and my approach is to play, listen, explore and memorize. I like to start imagining scales, melodies and chords in order to find out where they are on the Stick (rather than coming at... |

Fantastic pictures! And of course fantastic instruments. Since I recently got my first stick I just love the bamboo/PASV4 sound and feel. When I can afford a back-up I will definitely go for one of the most spectacularly dyed bamboo grands. A practical point is that it may be handy to have the inlay... |

My new instrument arrived today! This dark bamboo grand is my first Stick so I can't compare to anything else, just tell you that i find it fantastic with the PASV4 going out through two appropriate rigs for the bass side and the melody side! Such a wonderful instrument! Wow, what fun to explore thi... |

run some of your favourite artists through a frequency analyzer (I use Waves PAZ or Wavelab) and then compare your own tracks. This is a fairly simple way of pinpointing which frequencies might be missing or too prominent. Good point there! Since I read you already have Logic around you may do this... |

Thanks for bringing up the Bose here! (I asked about that in another thread, but I guess you didn't read there?) I have two Bose questions: 1) Do you think you would need an extra bass element at a larger venue? 2) What about amplifying a stereo signal? |

Fun to follow the creative flow of ideas! If I'm not mistaken this way of improvising multiple part music once originated the invention of the Stick an the Free Hands method? |

Thanks for posting this link. I love that guy's attitude! It seems this was recorded as he was trying out a Bose system. Has anyone of you on this board tried a Stick with a Bose system? I guess two bass elements would bee needed with the Stick? One thing that makes me a little hesitant with the Bos... |
