Re: Update Sticksynth.com web magazine April'2018
Thanks to Angel "Sticksynth" Argilés for his current online feature on "the invisible Stick man". Angel of Barcelona has been our customer through Guillermo's "Stick Center" since 2004.
Many thanks also to Steve Richardson of London for a most interesting account of his life history with music, then career, then with The Stick. Steve has been our customer since 2002 and in 1999 he attended Greg's Leeuwarden Stick Seminar in Holland. He also helped Greg organize that formative event.
Steve seems to be one of those who are active in the field but not necessarily known in the field. He might blame such lack of fame and reputation on a retiring personality, a low profile image, or to decisions and choices unconsciously made. As somewhat of a fatalist I see it differently.
Each life unfolds in inexplicable ways, one's life having a "life of its own", so to speak, sometimes in harmony and sometimes in contradiction to one's temperament, intent, education, preparations, sometimes even in opposition to one's gifts and talents.
So when is your time in the sun? Some reach their peak in high school, others as young adults. Some have to wait longer for it. (I'm still waiting, with Saturn at the midheaven ruling career.) If and when it comes, you've earned it.
Reading Steve's biographical story, I'm happy to be mentioned several times and the realization hit me - yes I did start playing melody and chords with the right hand over the top, and it was the wrong hand! (We've all fixed that by now.)
I also enjoyed Tony Levin's reply letter of 1982, which nicely fills in some historical gaps.
