Groove and Stick make me think to Jo Ruffier des Aimes (who created Tarace Boulba, a French Stick and Horns band, in 1993):

"Groove and Stick" was also the name gave to a project for 1 concert only in November 2005 (last time Emmett came in France) with Jo, Jim Lampi and Youenn Landreau on Stick. Here's a extract :

The dots look like “C” markers. …. Put a dot where every “C” is (you can do it for any not of course)…

In the Mick Meyer video at the top of this page I think he marks both C & A?
On Stick I just mark C, but on my LinnStrument I highlight both C & A (using a different colour for A to the one I choose for C).
