Greg,
I look forward to the training guide. I have followed what you have on posted on the internet to help me as I am very new to the stick and even learning an instrument and need all the training guides I can find and I enjoy your showing the hand movements and placement of the fingers.
Is there anything else you recommend for beginners like myself who want to learn to play the stick?
Adam
Hi Adam,
I would just echo Ray's post (thanks, Ray!). If you have skype or google video chat capabilities, then a lesson via that method is very easy to do and can be really helpful. It's amazing what a simple change in instrument positioning, and a good foundation in hand movement, can do for your playing.
logistics and rates are available here:

Some of my students have lessons once a week, some every few weeks or so.
Some students who come from a guitar background find the hand movement concept a little odd, but it's good to remember that the fingers have to both select AND energize the notes. Once they give it a serious try, the benefits become obvious.
Hand movement evens out the fingers' strengths, which gives you more consistent tone and better dynamic control. It also means you can rely much less on pulloffs to execute descending lines. It makes your timing much more precise and helps you separate your two hands from each other.
