Wonderful tribute Gene. Great photos, narrative and history. Outside the seminars and such, I knew Robin on a personal level as well, being her private teacher for probably 15 years. We shared musical ideas, her song faves as well as her public school teaching career and family history. We discussed her Hawaiian background and family history especially when I would travel to those islands. Her full last name was the same as ukele player Jake Shimabukuro. I was shocked when I received the call last Saturday from her sister, that Robin had passed away. My sincere condolences to her family and friends for the loss of a very sweet human being.

Re: Robin Shima - The Aloha Stickist
The emotion was present Gene...specially at the end...well done video.
Thanks Brett, Steve, Alain, Bruno, David and Bruno. Been seeing some really nice comments on the YT page, thanks for thinking of her and keeping her memory alive. She was so special.
There will be a service in Anaheim on Saturday, Feb.22 if anyone is in town and wants to pay their respects. I'll play a little bit, let me know if there any songs you want me to play in her honor.
Gene. On the two 'Player' entries I've added links to the Academy's 'About Us' page (since the player links are intended to relate to the player), and I've added the domain root link as an 'Own Home' item on the existing Free Hands Academy entry in the 'Other' section, which is at the bottom of the links page. Previously the 'Other' entry only had the Academy's youtube channel.
Thanks David, I really appreciate it. Your work on this endeavor is relentless and appreciated.
While there are some SOTW videos that were done a decade back, I would request that you use the Free Hands Academy link - https://www.youtube.com/c/Freehandsacademy as that is where all the videos about the Chapman Stick reside.
I am only recently revisiting the FHA site, so any link there is greatly appreciated. With Robin's passing, I have renewed my interest in at least keeping this up to date with our past catalog of offerings and events.
Hopefully some smaller regional events this Summer. Any chance you're coming out here any time soon? Thanks again, cheers.
