The DC Society of Art Rock presents a day of bands at Artomatic. Artomatic is a month-long multimedia arts event that draws together visual artists, musicians and performers and brings their work to the community without charge. More about AOM here: http://www.artomatic.org/about/facts

SOAR started working with AOM last year, with a few SOAR bands playing multiple sets over the month. This year we've lumped them all in one day. The line up includes:

On the Electric Stage starting at 4PM
> Conduit
> Kinetic Element
> Cliff Art
> Ephemeral Sun
> IZZ

On the Cabaret Stage:
> Gary Rouzer (solo bass)
> Circus of Saints
> Rob Martino (stick)

And between sets, there are six floors of visual art to peruse.

Just a quick update to this, I'll be playing a 30 minute set starting at 9:30pm (hopefully between Ephemeral Sun and IZZ sets if the timing works out).

I'm heading up to D.C. soon, just a bump for this gig tonight.

So how did it go, Rob?

It went pretty well, thanks. My "minimal rig" concept didn't go according to plan (just my instrument and the Coda), as there were some problems with the sound board and trying to track down an extension cord, so I started late, but they let me do my whole set.

There was only one time I got significantly derailed during one piece which I eventually recovered from, and overall it was fun, the many weeks of open mics this year has helped with my comfort level on stage. Got a nice reception from folks, and it was a privilege to be a part of the whole art/prog rock activities for the day. Plus the Artomatic art exhibit itself was great, taking up several floors of an unfinished office building (a pretty cool idea actually, nice use of space before the building actually becomes offices).
