 FHA Stick Night PER FEST 2014 The Free Hands Academy has confirmed our first PER Festival! We'll be celebrating instrumental music on the Chapman Stick with one of our fav Swedish SG12 players - Per Boysen!  The event will start at 7pm, Friday, October 24 at the fabulous Guitar Merchant in Canoga Park. In addition to Per, we'll feature an all star lineup of Los Angeles area players including: Emmett Chapman Gary Jibilian Kevin Keith Michael Kollwitz Gene Perry Don Schiff String Planet featuring Larry Tuttle and Novi Novog Also joining us will be LapDawg creator and Pedal Steel phenomenon, Michael Johnstone. For those of you in the southern California area, be sure to mark your calendars for a great night of improvised music. Tickets can be purchased in advance through the Guitar Merchant and are only $10.

Re: FHA Stick Night PER FEST 2014 I picked a little pedal steel with Gene on Stick. My steel chops were down due to recent health issues and spending so much time on Stick lately but we hit a few grooves. It confirmed what I'd suspected and that was that steel and Stick blend real well. Per was in fine form as was Mike Kollwitz,Larry & Novi and really everyone involved had something happening. Lotsa N/S action and Emmett had a Railboard with some fancy new shiny gold finish and it sounded shiny too. Cool evening I'd say.
